Known as the face of Australian marketing and advertising, Russel Howcroft is a highly popular panellist on ABC's The Gruen Transfer. He has become a brand in his own right and was awarded the Charlie Award for it.

Russel was chief creative officer and partner at PwC Australia, executive general manager of the TEN Network and chief executive officer Australia/New Zealand at Young and Rubicam.

He spent 11 years running his own agencies with various partners, before joining George Patterson Y&R. The group includes The Campaign Palace, VML, ideaworks and Brand Asset consulting.

A former Chairman of the Advertising Federation of Australia, Russel is a regular commentator on radio in Melbourne and served on the board of the Melbourne Football club.

In 2020, Russel is chair of the Council of the Australian Film Television and Radio School.
