Neurodiversity Speaker FAQs
Talking about neurodiversity helps us understand that we all think in different ways, and that no one way is better than another. It helps create safe and accepting environments for neurodiverse people who may otherwise face discrimination and stigma.
The neurodiversity movement focuses on three fundamental ideas. The first is that neurodiversity is a natural and valuable form of diversity in humans. Second, debunking the idea that there is only one type of “normal” or “healthy” brain, or a “right” way to function. Third, that empowering neurodiverse individuals helps unlock creative potential and new solutions.
With approximately 15 to 20% of Australians being neurodivergent, organisations of all types and sizes can benefit from understanding and empowering neurodivergent people in our workplaces. These individuals can help us discover new perspectives, unlock innovation and generate creative solutions.
We have a wide variety of neurodiversity speakers, including people with lived experience who share their personal stories and individual perspectives as well as educators and academics who can share cutting-edge research on how embracing neurodivergence has a positive impact in our workplaces and communities.
