Brad Hopes

I grew up in Kurri Kurri, home of the largest display of outdoor murals in mainland Australia, as well as The Big Kookaburra. So, if you ever get that question at your next pub trivia night, now you know!

I started off working in Rugby League coaching teams and eventually moved into Memorabilia Auctions for different charity organisations. I really loved both of those jobs as they were professionally rewarding for different reasons.

When you speak to me on the phone, I have a furry helper close by, my beautiful old German shepherd named Chloe, who lies under my desk while I work. So, if you hear growling on the other end of the line, it’s not me.

And just in case you were wondering, I am not the long lost brother of Rob Reiner… that I know of.

What is your greatest professional achievement ?
I think everything is an achievement in its own right. Coaching was rewarding. Raising money for charities was gratifying. But I’m really enjoying my time at ICMI, to be honest. I love the challenge of a tough brief, then surprising a client with something that delivers more than expected.

What do you love about being a part of the ICMI team?
I really enjoy chatting with my clients and to see what’s happening in their world and then I use those insights I’ve learned to make their event a great experience for them. I love this job because it never feels like work. When you can wake up on Monday morning and look forward to your day, I think you are very lucky. Or dreaming. Either way, I’m winning!

What do you like to do on the weekends?
All of the usual, a bit of gardening, shopping, a wander down the beach with my partner or just relaxing on the couch with my dog.
