Testimonials for Thomas Robb
As a teacher, towards the end of term your spirit or spark can tend to waiver. Tom’s workshop came at the perfect time for us as colleagues to reconnect with our purpose and bond as a collective of likeminded educators. Within 10 minutes Tom had us opening up, softening and sharing deep inner truths and vulnerabilities that had been bottled up inside. We bonded. There were tears, laughter and a lightness the permeated the staff in such a short space of time and lasted well beyond the workshop. We let go, we focused, we put ourselves first and remembered why we teach and the importance of this role in building a community and society. We took a moment to appreciate ourselves and really see each other for the compassionate and kind people that we are. A deeper sense of gratitude, consideration and compassion filtered through the coming weeks as we noticed a more supportive and appreciative commitment to assisting each other’s efforts in achieving our common goals. Truly a practice that should be embedded within each school’s staff well-being program.

Tom Robb’s presentation was entertaining and effective. His pragmatic approach to confronting the challenges of met by adolescent students was refreshingly optimistic. Tom’s personable engagement of our Year 9 boys was professional yet sincere, and was greatly appreciated by students and staff alike. Tom was clearly a gifted and confident public speaker who interspersed serious content amongst light-hearted comedy and active participation. In his presentation on decision-making for teenagers he demonstrated a keen awareness of the audience and was able to manipulate their focus well through story-telling and multimedia. Tom’s wealth of life experience enabled him to draw upon a wide range of challenges faced by young people, and he communicated serious and complex issues with integrity and sensitivity. The solutions he offered up for consideration by the students were age-appropriate, practical and effective, and were indicative not only current trends in adolescent development but also his own robust personal code of ethics. Our students were very thankful for the opportunity to have worked with Tom, and they were very appreciative of the simple, constructive and mature advice he provided. I have no hesitations in recommending Tom to other organisations and am happy to speak with those who may be considering one of his presentations in the future.

Tom’s presentation was engaging, thoughtful and relevant to teenage boys. His ability to engage the audience was tremendous, allowing him to deliver clear messages and advice. Tom’s personal stories related to the boys, which challenged the provoking thoughts. His presentation was one of the best we’ve seen.

Tom created a safe and enjoyable environment which allowed myself and colleagues to open up and be vulnerable with one another. Tom’s course was not only educational, but incredibly fun! My Branch enjoyed stepping outside of the normal corporate environment and participating in an entertaining, freeing and unorthodox experience. Staff continue to speak highly of Tom’s workshop, passion and zest for life. Highly recommend Tom’s Finding Your True North Workshop!
