Testimonials for The Decent People
Russell & Sarah aka The Decent People, are simply incredible people to work with. Exceptionally decent, but also very entertaining, engaging and the ultimate professionals. I can't speak highly enough of their contribution to a recent event we managed and would be delighted to provide a recommendation at any time.
Many, many thanks once more to you, for your wonderful performance last week, and for all the hard work and planning that preceded it. We have received so much overwhelmingly positive feedback and joy expressed about it.

Russell, thank you so much for hosting the trivia last week - we have had nothing but amazing feedback from all the dinners and couldn’t have done it without you.
Russell and Sarah were outstanding. They were also a huge hit with the kids and teachers with their Roald Dahl presentation but also at our dinner they were just hilarious. Many great comments from everyone.

A huge thank you to Russell and Sarah for taking our team on an improvisation journey, unleashing our creativity and helping us work together with the power of ‘yes, and’! A few of us were hesitant about the project to start with, but by the end we were comfortable with ourselves and each other to come up with some positive and innovative ideas. Definitely a must-do for any organisation or team looking to further leadership and team work amongst colleagues.

In the expert hands of Sarah Kinsella our diverse group comprised of CEO's, first year university students and senior university management were quickly engaged in improvisation activities. Even the cynics amongst the group were laughing and eager for more. There is much that can be learned about leadership from improvisation - our group learned about the power of stepping into the unknown, embracing uncertainty and being open to possibilities. Sarah's workshop formed part of our orientation activities and was a fantastic primer for fruitful working relationships.

Hi Sarah – I just wanted to say thank you to the both of you for helping to enliven our Brand Captain Workshop so much. Everyone loved it and the energy you helped to unleash has spread like wildfire back to the teams here at MYOB.

Thanks so much for last night. I thought you and Sarah did a fantastic job. The response to your workshop was excellent considering we gathered a disparate group of more than 40 small business people who were drawn from a great variety of industries (after school care, fitness centres, concrete works, web developers, general store and gallery owners) most of whom had never met before. What’s more they didn’t know what they were in for. We promoted the night as a way of building your team and your business.
To have these people curious, open-minded and participating in improvisational drama activities in a few minutes was outstanding. I’ve never heard a room full of strangers interacting so fully and with so much laughter so quickly. You two have an amazing skill of making people feel completely relaxed about shrugging off their inhibitions and opening their minds to new ways of thinking and acting.
We received a constant stream of happy “thank-yous” as people left. One local businesswoman wants to do this every week!
The feedback we received is that it was great food for thought and people were looking forward to practically applying these communication principles at work and at home, and that they had heaps of fun.

Russell has been coaching our science, engineering and technology research students for the 3 Minute Thesis Competition for three years now, and someone from our group has taken out the University prize every year! The students appreciate his humour and energy and his ability to make public speaking seem like fun. His help in improving their communication skills and confidence has definitely been a factor in our team’s success.

Russell is the ultimate professional performer and creative mind for a corporate setting. He relates exceptionally well to the corporate audience, working hard to understand their needs. And he has a tremendous capacity for hard work.

Hi Russell, thank you for following up the Hume City Council event. It was a great afternoon - participants were challenged, put out of their comfort zone but really enjoyed themselves (more so than I think they had anticipated) and got to know each other better - all key objectives for the day. Sarah was great - she reduced participant's anxiety within the first 5 minutes and created some great energy in the room. Look forward to working with you and your team again soon. Cheers.
A further big thank you for your work today with the girls. The girls comments are overwhelmingly positive. In response to the question ‘What did you gain from today?’, over a dozen girls have said that they were not previously considering applying for a leadership position but now they thought they might ‘give it a go’.
The word ‘fun’ is used again and again in comments on your session and ‘Inspiring’. Others include ‘it’s ok to fail/made you take chances’, which seems to be a huge learning that links in to their readiness to ‘have a go at leadership’. ‘Importance of body language’ / ‘that in order for ideas and thoughts to flow, people have to be open towards each other’/ ‘ something you don’t do every day but a good experience’. Clearly the session was a success and complemented the other activities really well. Also, please pencil us in for the equivalent Wednesday in 2015!

LOVED the improv. session and how many lessons could be learnt from it around working with a partner & failure in particular. I learned to put myself on the line more, be less afraid to look like a fool/fail, always try to make my co-facilitators look & feel great.
I loved the Improvisation stuff- hilarious, great tools, interactive and great bonding with others.
We loved the session with Russell and Sarah! It was high energy, interactive and we failed constantly! It really helped the group warm up and start to act without analysing too much.

Your ability to read the crowd, pick the right people, pick the right themes, and move things along is extraordinary. The feedback has been amazing.
