Takaya Honda

Takaya Honda, as a Dementia Australia Ambassador, has been integral to the success of many Dementia Australia events and activities since 2017. This includes MC'ing many Memory Walk & Jog events, our major annual fundraising activities, across Australia including capital cities and to thousands of people. He generously shares his profile and family’s experience of dementia to raise awareness and funds. He successfully motivates crowds of all ages and abilities (with a weakness for anyone with a puppy ) and maintains momentum, builds the energy and creates a positive experience while managing what is often a highly sensitive, personal experience for the participants. Takaya has MC'ed and/or been guest speaker at a mix of corporate events for Dementia Australia and for our stakeholders. This includes launch events – small or large, conferences, summits, seminars and webinars, facilitating panel discussions, media conferences, all-staff meetings and fundraising events. Takaya brings warmth and authenticity while always achieving a lovely balance of fun, sensitivity and respect for the purpose of his role and the style and objectives of the event. Takaya is a great to work with in the lead up to any activity and on the day. Having had the privilege of witnessing the brilliant Takaya Honda as a guest speaker during an event for RedKite at the Sofitel and being truly impressed by his charisma and expertise, I approached him to MC a children’s cancer event held at the Alex Theatre in front of a crowd of over five hundred. It was not surprising that he did not hesitate to say yes. Takaya's humour, improvisation skills, preparation and professionalism shone through, captivating the audience effortlessly. Over many years of knowing Takaya, I have witnessed his unwavering commitment and exceptional talent in every role he takes on.
