Ngahihi o te ra Bidois was our keynote speaker recently at our Think Water annual conference held in Rotorua. Think Water is a group of around 50 professional pumping and irrigation businesses across Australia and New Zealand and the evening was represented by its members and preferred suppliers. Ngahi addressed members and suppliers from our organisation on leadership. From the moment he took the stage he held our members enthralled. His personal story interwoven with a universal message on leadership resonated with our members delving into the complexities of relationships and the importance of mentors (eagles) in our lives. His message of the key component of influence in leadership and taking opportunities when they present was on the mark. Addressing a group of seasoned irrigation professionals, many of whom have more than 20 years of work life experience Ngahi’s delivery was inspirational and unique, splashed with an occasional touch of humour, and one which our members will not forget easily. A powerful ending of a soul searching and enlightening presentation, humorous, relevant to his audience and insightful Ngahi received a standing ovation from our members and suppliers.

Ngahi as a speaker and as a catalyst for change is unique in my experience. It was a privilege to be part of a training session aimed at helping my college transform its approach to cultural diversity. Of real value was not only the smart way he helped us clarify the issues, it was also that he helped us shape how to move forward and take action. This we are doing with enthusiasm and a shared sense of 'we can do this'.

I had the great pleasure of hearing Ngahihi o te ra Bidois speak recently and was both inspired and very moved by his presentation. The pride Ngahihi has in his traditions, and the way he links those traditions with the present day in such a personal and unique manner, makes him a speaker of note. His passion is inspiring and his message appeals to, and is appropriate to, all groups.

Passionate, articulate and a wonderful speaker! It is with great pleasure that I provide this letter of reference for Ngahi Bidois who was appointed Master of Ceremonies for the 2007 Early Childhood Convention in which my role was Conference Organiser. As an event manager I work with many keynote speakers, MC’s and entertainers. Ngahi proved to be an MC / Speaker that I will never forget. With his inspiring knowledge, leadership and passion for his work and people, Ngahi easily took on an active role in the planning with the working committee months before the Convention and created a strong bond with all involved. The Convention attracted 1,400 participants and ran for five days. From the first day through to the last, Ngahi had the audience captivated with his insightful and entertaining speaking. Ngahi has a motivational twist in his speaking and leaves delegates feeling inspired and passionate about their fields of work. As an Education Convention, Ngahi’s experience in the Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Education sectors shone through. The role of an MC is a crucial factor in the success of an event and Ngahi achieved a high opinion from delegates and he ran the event with ease. Delegates enjoyed his speaking and reported highly of him. So highly that from the Convention Ngahi has obtained future-speaking engagements both domestically and overseas. Ngahi also ran a workshop at the Convention, which was very popular; within this workshop his skill in equipping people with leadership skills was prominent. I recommend Ngahi to any event as a professional speaker, outstanding Master of Ceremonies, strong leader and inspirational entertainer. Ngahi is an amazing person with qualities that will benefit all people, events and seminars that he is involved with and I wish him well with his business Kauri Consultants and his future events.

I was fortunate to be one of over 400 delegates who attended the Renal Society of Australasia (RSA) Conference in Rotorua. The program consisted of four workshops, 13 invited presentations, one panel session, 59 orals and 47 posters within both plenary and breakout sessions. The Conference was chaired by Master of Ceremonies Ngahihi o te ra Bidois. Ngahihi had a unique ability to inspire and move the audience with his beautiful stories. One minute he would have us laughing uncontrollably and the next there would not be a dry eye in the audience. He was able to convey the spirituality of the Maori culture to the point that moved many of us. Somehow he was able to apply aspects of Maori culture to our everyday work and provided us with useful insights into leadership and caring. His involvement in the conference was a true highlight.

Ngahihi has an exceptional story. Our delegates found him to be an absolute inspiration and a prompt for reflection. Ngahihi tied his content into the objectives of our conference with seamless ease and his messages helped us to deliver our best conference yet. I would have absolutely no hesitation to recommend Ngahihi for any other businesses who are looking for an interesting and inspirational guest. All agreed that Ngahihi’s presentation style was exceptional and the engagement from our audience was extreme. I am so very grateful that we were able to have Ngahihi join us.
