Peter Hutchinson

Former champion Australian jockey, and current sports commentator

The “Laughing Jockey” as he was known, won over 900 races, including the 1993 Caulfield Cup.

Peter Hutchinson was apprenticed to Colin Hayes in 1983, an event which led to him becoming one of Australia’s best jockeys, and more recently a commentator on the sport. He won the jockeys’ championship twice in Adelaide, and has won several big races, including the Caulfield Cup and the AJC Oaks.
