Neil Cross

ABC sports broadcaster and news journalist

Neil Cross's journalism career started more than three decades ago with a cadetship at a Brisbane newspaper.

In 1987, he moved to Adelaide and in 1993 from print to television news, before returning to newspapers as a sports writer in 1997.

A year later, Neil joined the ABC in Adelaide as a news and current affairs journalist.

He spent 22 years presenting and reporting on sport in ABC News, including 13 years as the host and lead commentator on the ABC’s coverage of the SANFL.

Neil still works in the newsroom and commentates on the AFL and other sports for ABC Grandstand radio.

A keen sportsman since an early age, Neil's favourite sports include Australian Rules football, cricket, tennis, golf, rugby league, rugby union, soccer ... in fact, pretty much all sports!
