A proud Goa‑Gunggari‑Wakka Wakka Murri artist from Queensland, Leah Purcell, AM, is a luminous presence in film, TV and theatre, as an actor, writer, director and producer.

Recently she starred opposite Sigourney Weaver in The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, and also appears in High Country and the Sundance‑premiered Shayda.

Her debut feature, The Drover’s Wife: The Legend of Molly Johnson, based on her own award‑winning play, won AACTA and Directors’ Guild awards, among others.

She’s also directed chapters of Here Out West and shaped landmark TV series like Cleverman and Redfern Now.

Multi‑talented, deeply rooted, and brilliantly prolific.
