A doyen of Australia’s media food industry, Janelle Bloom believes good cooking begins with confidence and a little patience. She is famous for recipes taste as good as they looks that are foolproof, easy-to-follow and use readily available seasonal ingredients
Janelle is one of the original chefs who inspire viewers every day on the high-rating Network 10/Southern Star production of READY STEADY COOK, now in its eighth year on air. When asked to describe the show, she says: ‘It’s challenging and chaotic, but the most fun I’ve had in a kitchen and the best job I have ever had!’
FAST, FRESH & FABULUOUS was Janelle’s first published book, it became a best seller and has now been joined by three follow up books that proved equally popular.
In addition to her own book, Janelle has 20 years’ experience as a contributor to publications as a food editor, writer and food stylist.
She consults to the Australian Mushroom Growers, Moraitis Fresh Produce, Heart Foundation, Woolworths to name a few and has been part of the audition team searching for Masterchef contestants for 2011, 2012 & the mini masterchefs who cooked their way into our hearts in 2011 .
Janelle contributes to numerous charities and community programs, with Ronald Mcdonald House, Randwick topping the list where she has been the Ambassador for 8 years as well as a weekly volunteer She says: "Working as a volunteer puts everything into perspective. It’s something we should all do".
