Anh Do
Biography
Anh Do, one of Australia’s most famous comedians, authors, and actors, is also one of the most hilarious public speakers in the world. However, unlike some with his same skill-sets, Anh’s unique life story makes for a poignant, relatable, and inspiring story, which he shares easily with audiences of one or one million.
Born in Vietnam in 1977, Anh’s family fled the country in 1980, landing in Australia after a harrowing journey. Since then, Anh has made a name for himself in his new country, starting his career at the age of 14 breeding tropical fish and moving on to comedy and writing later in life. Perhaps one of the most inspirational comedians and media personalities around, Anh Do is well known in not only Australia, but the UK and US as well. He has hosted for some of the top leaders in the world, including Prime Ministers John Howard and Kevin Rudd, as well as some of the most illustrious companies in the world, including Telstra, McDonald's, and Toyota.
In the US, UK, and Australia, he has made a name for himself in television, appearing on shows such as Thank God You’re Here, Spicks and Specks, Rove Live, and Dancing With the Stars. His gut wrenchingly funny presentations and routines have earned him the title of Comedian of the Year, and led way to him writing a book based on his experience leaving Vietnam and settling in Australia. Titled The Happiest Refugee, Anh’s story won him Indie Book of the Year in 2011, as well as Non Fiction Indie Book of the Year. It was also been shortlisted for the 2011 NSW Premier’s Literary - Community Relations Commission Award.

Great start to the night with his relaxed and easy going manner, and made me (the main co-ordinator who is always feeling rather worn out by this stage) very relaxed too.”
