Nick Green’s international rowing career got off to a flying start in late 1989 when he teamed up with experienced rowers James Tomkins, Mike McKay, and later Andrew Cooper to race in the Coxless Fours.
Within a year they had won the World Championship in Tasmania and began to build their "oarsome" reputation.
The crew won successive World Championships in 1990 and 1991 and went into the Barcelona Olympics as hot favourites. The crew did not disappoint and took their first Olympic gold in a thrilling race.
