Dawn Fraser is regarded by most as the greatest Female Swimmer of all time. Her 3 successive Gold Medals at the 1956, 1960 and 1964 Olympics in the 100 Meters Freestyle has never been equalled nor is it likely to be in the near future. Her Olympic career was halted by Australian Olympic bureaucrats who decided to ban Dawn for 10 years for having a bit of fun by "capturing" a Japanese flag whilst in Tokyo at the 1964 Games. Dawn Fraser has been a great Ambassador for both Australia and the Olympic movement over the last four decades and received her just reward by receiving an MBE in the 1960's and an OA in 1999.
