Elka Graham is one of Australia's brightest and shining stars in swimming. Announcing her retirement after the 2006 Commonwealth Games Elka is currently on the move with media, modelling and television and is currently in demand on the speaking circuit and emceeing. Holding 10 Australian and numerous Commonwealth records, Elka has come away with a medal from every international meet since the 2000 Olympics games in Sydney, World Championships, Pan Pacifics, Commonwealth Games, World cup and Athens Olympics all gaining records, and dais Medal status
In 2001 she recorded the fastest swim in the 200m Freestyle and became number one in the world.2001-2004 saw her top 3 in the world for both the 200m and 400m freestyle. In 2003 she won gold in the 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m, no woman has ever achieved this feat.
With her positive attitude and vibrant personality, Elka survived a month in hospital after she was diagnosed with a heart condition, she went on to World Championships in 2003 only one month later and came home a multiple medallist.
