Doug Hawkins is one of the real characters of Australian Rules Football. As a footballer during the 1980's and early 90's, "The Hawk" as he was known was a champion Footscray Footballer (over 16 years) whose dogged determination made him the most beloved player throughout the Western Suburbs. On his retirement he increased his media commitments through the highest rating Channel 9 "Footy Show" and radio station 3MMM.

Doug Hawkins performances on the "Footy Show" led to him being one of the most sought after football personalities which in turn saw him being recruited by Channel 7 to co-host "Live and Kicking".
