Helen Dalley joined the Sunday program as a Reporter in 1989 and was the program's presenter when Jana Wendt was out of the seat.
Helen's broad experience in journalism includes being a sports writer for The National Times newspaper and beauty editor for The Australian Women's Weekly. In 1981 she accepted a posting in New York as the correspondent for magazines such as The Bulletin, The Women's Weekly, Cleo and Australian Business.
During this time she completed a brief, intensive business journalism course at Columbia University and returned to Australia in 1983 to work full-time on Australian Business magazine as a reporter.
In 1986 Helen became a founding member of the Nine Network's Business Sunday as a reporter, interviewer and occasional presenter for the program. She has also hosted The Today Show, A Current Affair Summer Edition, Midday and has been part of Nine's Federal Election coverage.
Helen has won numerous awards including the 1994 United Nations Media Peace Award for her story on Mabo, and the 1996 Michael Daley Award for Best Television Feature/Documentary for a story on the Information Superhighway.
In 1999 Helen won a coveted Walkley Award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism. She also won the Human Rights Award for Television, for her story "Solutions for a Secret Shame", about the tragic crisis of Aboriginal domestic violence.
Helen has recently made the switch to Sky News Australia where she presents the Sunday Business Program. She also featured heavily in Sky News’ Federal Election coverage, hosting the daily Agenda program Morning Edition every day of the campaign, and hosted the Tally Room coverage on Federal Election night.
A graduate of Sydney University, Helen has an Honours Arts degree in French.
