Speaker Dave Flanagan

Dave Flanagan is one of Australia's most in-demand comedians and as much an institution in South Australia as was the State Bank.  He has been involved in the comedy industry as a writer, actor, stand-up comedian and entrepreneur since birth - almost.  Dave has worked as a stand-up comic all over Australia, from RSL and football clubs to the "new wave" venues like The Comedy Store in Sydney and the Last Laugh in Melbourne.

An early life spent in poverty gave him the insight and humour needed to develop his craft as a comedian.  He learnt his first joke at the tender age of six - "Why did the sausage cross the road?" (His family couldn't afford a chicken!) He has since honed his craft to such an extent he has been able to shed the effects of his family's poverty and develop his own.
