LEADING
RIVERVIEW CHURCH
Philip Baker is the Senior Minister of River view Church, the largest Church on Australia ’s west coast and Australia ’s fourth largest. Philip has been in this role since 1989.
TELEVISION
Philip and his team produce the television program ChurchLIVE@River view, a 30-minute program featuring live praise and worship from River view Church combined with Philip Baker speaking (also recorded live at River view) which is seen throughout Australia, New Zealand, the USA African commercial television, and European satellite television.
KEY INITIATIVES
Philip continually works to develop unity with other Churches and Ministers, which has helped to build a strong Christian network both in Australia and throughout the world, and a climate of co-operation among a large number of churches. Philip has launched several key initiatives, including:
Church Together —an annual event held in Perth, Western Australia, bringing together over 170 Churches from throughout Perth for an evening of celebration in a stadium setting, Rise Conference —an annual Conference held in Perth, with delegates coming from throughout Australia and overseas 500Pl us Church Net work —Philip is the convener of the 500Plus Church Network, a global network of growing churches (with over 500 in weekly attendance). Conferences are held in Australasia, Europe, and soon to be launched in North America, for the Senior
Pastors of these Churches.
Australian Christian Churches —In March 2002 Philip was appointed President of Australian Christian Churches, a growing al liance of 1,200 churches throughout Australia, representing over 200,000 attendees.
Philip is married to Heather and they have three daughters, Jazmin, Temily and Isabel.
