Like many BROTHER teams before them, their talents and roles cover much of the film‘s key positions. Shane Jacobson stars as KENNY and co-produced the film, while Clayton Jacobson directed/produced/filmed and was principal editor of the production. The film marks the culmination of THE BROTHERS‘ many years in their respective fields as Performer and Director.
About Clayton
Clayton Jacobson graduated from Australia’s prestigious Swinburne Film & TV school in the mid 80’s. Collaborating with established directors, Clayton entered the industry editing feature films, TV and documentaries, working with such luminaries as Jane Campion (The Piano), Richard Lowenstein (Dogs in Space), Paul Goldman (Australian Rules), Andrew Dominik (Chopper) and John Hillcoat (The Proposition).
Like many directors before him, Clayton cut his teeth directing music videos for some of Australia\'s premier musical acts including INXS, John Farnham, Kate Ceberano, and Jimmy Barnes to name just a few. Clayton then shifted gear, directing award winning local and international television commercials as well as two documentaries: ‘The Holy Roadside’ for Mushroom records and ‘Inside This Room’, an ABC-TV special featuring the work of performers/composers David Hirschfelder and David Hobson.
Comedian John Safran enlisted Clayton’s help to direct his AFI award-winning ‘Footloose’ segment for SBS’s ‘Music Jamboree’ program.
With feature films firmly in his sights, Clayton has spent the last few years building his skills base directing several award winning short films. KENNY is Clayton’s feature debut.
About Shane
Shane’s thirst for entertainment took hold early when he joined the Melbourne Gang Show Theatre Troupe at the age of 10. His formative years were spent honing his craft performing on stage throughout Australia as well as the Philippines.
At age 18, Shane began his comedy career with regular theatre restaurant, stand-up and MC gigs. The corporate world soon took advantage of his command of comic character immersion, hiring him to play to huge corporate functions impersonating business icons and luminaries.
Shane’s focus eventually moved towards the camera and he began acting in prominent Music Videos, Short Films and TV Commercials. Shane also performed Warm-Ups for all the major TV networks and was the Half Time Entertainer for the Victorian Titans basketball team.
In 1999 Shane secured a radio gig with Melbourne’s Gold FM on a segment called The 60 Minute Challenge where he created the character voice of Sergio The Hairdresser. Sergio also featured regularly on Gold FM’s Breakfast show.
Remarkably, Shane’s performance achievements existed alongside his successful business career as national general manager of an entertainment lighting and production company as well as lighting designer and production manager for the music, corporate, and special events industries - a skill base which proved instrumental in achieving and organising some of KENNY’s larger set piece scenes.
Shane’s memorable character performance in KENNY marks his first lead role in a feature film.
The Presentation
In the relaxed Q & A format, The Jacobson Brothers share with the audience a very personal and extremely entertaining insight into the “behind the scenes” of their multi-award winning feature film “Kenny”. These two very talented brothers are both natural speakers and are sure to engage the audience in a very unusual way!
