Awarded the 2004 Telstra NSW Business Woman of the Year, Karen Matthews is no stranger to success. At 40, she is one of Australia’s youngest female CEOs and is proud to be the mother of two children along with heading a $17M business.
An articulate and engaging speaker, Karen delivers technical expertise and business acumen with down to earth humour. Creating a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere with results driven direction, Karen is at ease presenting to an intimate group or a stadium full of people.
Ella Baché is now available in 53 countries of which Australia provides 30% of export sales from Paris.
Karen has overseen the creation of Ella Baché’s Great Suncare range, which is about to be exported internationally. She has developed Australia’s only skincare franchise model that has made great waves across the franchising industry. Karen was recently awarded the PWC National Franchise Woman of the Year 2007. While steering the Ella Baché College of Beauty Therapy into a profitable business she nurtured the company’s manufacturing and distribution warehouse and local research department into becoming serviceable by other brands as a production facility.
Before becoming CEO of Ella Baché in 1999/2000, Karen was International Vice President of Ferro Designs, a branch of the FJ Benjamin Group for which she set up a license in Australia. Karen was also Marketing Manager in several buying divisions including Fashion and Accessories for the Coles/Myer Group for many years.
