The Scaredies are John Fleming and Rusty Berther – exceptional musicians, singers, composers and comedians. Their clever and witty parodies and versatile style make them one of Australia’s most sought after acts.
Prior to forming in 1990, the Scared Weird Little Guys performed in various groups, including the renowned a'capella group The Phones. After 10 months of non-stop shows in Australia, the guys decided to head for North America, where they did a Canadian Organisation of Campus Activities national showcase. They have been touring North America regularly ever since, and have won every major campus comedy award in Canada, the United States and Australia.
1997 saw the Scaredies make inroads into a new market and onto a new continent when they debuted in the UK by performing to thunderous applause at London’s “Jongleurs” comedy venue and then in the prestigious Assembly Rooms for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. They quickly became Fringe favourites and the darlings of the Edinburgh radio circuit, returning in 1998 to a sellout season.
On home ground, the guys are a regular highlight of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival, Auckland Fringe Festival and Melbourne International Festival of the Arts.
