Mark made his comedy debut in Australia at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival with his one-man monologue ‘Planes, Trains and a Horse’s Head’. He quickly discovered that Melbourne was one of the world’s most liveable cities, and that London was one of the world’s most over-crowded, grey-clouded shitholes, and so he started spending more and more time Down Under. Mark Butler for the past few years he has been dividing his time between the UK and Australia.
Since then he has built up a reputation in Australia as a hard-working, versatile and thoroughly professional stand-up comedian. He is a regular performer on both the club circuit and the corporate circuit, and each year he takes a brand new show to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and the Adelaide Fringe Festival.
Mark has also made a name for himself Down Under as a writer. He regularly contributes articles to The Age and the Sydney Morning Herald, and 2007 saw the launch of his novel on Australian shores.
Entertaining Australian corporate audiences Mark looks at our culture from the outside and tells us what he sees.
