At the tender age of eight, DARREN CARR started playing with dolls to himself ! Much to his parents relief, these peculiar traits were not the result of 'too much chlorine in and talking the gene pool', but his interest in the ancient art of ventriloquism. Since then Darren has become Australia's Premier Ventriloquist performing with his "One man and a cast of several" show.
Over the past ten years, Darren has enthralled audiences of all ages at numerous Corporate functions, Special events, Cruise ships, Clubs and Theatres, He has created and presented programs for such varied clients as: Tooheys, Westfields, Careflight, Lend Lease, Darling Harbour, Cancer Council, Popset Productions, NSW Registered Clubs Assn., Princess Cruise Lines, Starlight Foundation, Campbell's Food Stores and Norwegian Capricorn Cruises, to name but a few.
Darren has also been privileged to accept nominations for three "MO'- Entertainment Awards for Versatile Variety Performer of the Year, and an Australian Club Entertainers "ACE" Award for Best Sight Act.
In 1998 Darren accepted an invitation to perform in Las Vegas at the "International Ventriloquists Association" convention at which he received hearty adulation from his peers.
In 2002 Darren finally won his MO Award for most Versatile Variety Performer of the Year “beating” other outstanding performers such as the brilliant Ray Crowe.
Darren is described by many as being as good as the legendary David Strassman..
